On Sunday the 1st November 2015 we went to Petronas twin Towers. This was our third day in Kuala Lumpur and we decided to take a tour bus around the city. This is a Hop-On Hop-Off system which lets you get off and on as many times as you like in one day.
We went to the top of the bus as the view is always much better. It was very humid that day but we got to see lots of the tall buildings.

We stopped at the Palace of the King and had a short break. We decided to sit inside for a while as there was air conditioning and we were all getting very sweaty.
We arrived at Petronas which was the last stop on the tour. There was a big shopping mall which was six stories high. It is one of the biggest in KL. There was a food court, designer brands like Gucci and Prada. There was also a floor which was like a market with children’s clothes, electronics and an area selling Japanese food and drink. There was also a cinema on this floor.
Tom and I got delicious waffles at a place called Wafflemiester and we went outside to eat them. It was so warm and sweaty outside we couldn’t wait to get back inside to the air conditioning!
On the top floor there was a place called Petrosains which Tom will tell you about.
We eventually found the towers and bought our tickets for 4.30pm as it was only 2.45pm we got another waffle each, very tasty. We all like waffles .... who doesn't?
We arrived for our tour and they showed us a safety video which was a hologram. It was so cool.
It was all very well organised and each group was colour coded. We got the lift to the 41st floor, not even half way up. This is where the Sky Bridge walkway is. Each group was allowed about ten minutes here.

The views were great and we could see the pool on top of our apartment building - the green building just across the way from the towers. We were very close to the towers in downtown KL.

We all went back in the lift to go to the 84th floor. The lifts are really quick and we got to the top of Petronas quicker than we got to the 18th floor in our apartment block. At the top you could feel the wind moving the building! Dads ears popped on the way up.
There was a telescope and we were able to look for miles in all directions. There were also some cool models of the building. We spent about 20 minutes up here.

It was pouring when we left the tour so we hopped back on the bus to go back to the apartment. I would recommend going if you ever get the chance.

Fact File - Petronas Towers
The tallest buildings in the world from 1998 until 2004

Fantastic Susan…………….what a blast for Tom & Ben xox
The kids are loving it Trevor. Everyone tells us how lucky they are but we are the lucky ones being able to do it with them xxx
Hi guys! Glad your in KL! You were all brave heading up the Petronas Tower! A good bit taller than Mrs D methinks !!! Your apartment block looks awesome too …rooftop pool and all! Sounds like you’re having the time of your lives! How’s the home schooling going this week? It’s starting to get freezing here! Playground duty for me tomorrow. …massive puffa coat at the ready! 😉 Keep blogging it’s ace. Mrs D 🙂
KL was brilliant there was so much to do and our apartment block was about five minuets away from the petronas towers. Just outside the towers was a big 6 storey high shopping mall and on the top floor was petrosins as I mentioned in the blog. We are in Koh samui, Thailand and decided to stay for another month because it is the rainy season here and we cant do any outdoor activities. The rain here is much better than home because there are big thunder storms and becuse we are on a hill we can watch the rain coming in.
Thanks Ben.
